As you may have guessed by the lack of updates, I haven't been working on ZC lately. I'm officially calling it quits. It has been a fun project. Thanks for all the input from friends and fans. Sorry I couldn't do more with it, but sometimes you just have to move on. ZC is actually a lot bigger than I originally intended it to be. It outgrew itself in many ways. Maybe someday someone else will make a better Zelda clone with a better quest editor. Until then, I'm proud to say that Zelda Classic, which was my dream project for years, is the best Zelda clone around. Enjoy.

Whassup!! I'm still alive, but haven't had time to work on ZC lately. I probably won't add much more to it, but I plan on tying up a few of the loose ends and adding a few cool features. Don't know when that will happen though...

Version 1.84 is out! It has a lot of new stuff. Be sure to read the readme because there are some important changes to the the hearts and life meter sprites that will affect your quests. This may be the last update to ZC for a couple weeks. It fixes some of the major bugs and adds some useful new features that make it worth releasing now.

I updated the Links page a little. Thanks to the many people playing ZC and making new quests (or trying to anyway
), many bugs have been brought to my attention. Look for an updated version soon.

What's a new release without a few bugs? We fixed a couple things and uploaded v1.83. Everyone please upgrade, as ZC 1.83 won't accept quest files from 1.82 or lower. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Good news! Zelda Classic v1.82 and ZQuest v1.82 are out today. War Lord made a nifty installation program for them. Get it now! There are a few surprises in this version of ZC.

I'm still alive, and still working on ZC (albeit very slowly). The custom guys and enemies are about half done. The magic lens (lens of truth from Z64) is done. I've pretty much finished the swimming controls as well. I'll start another level in the demo quest to let people play around with this new equipment. Look for a new version of ZC within a week. And... a beta release of the editor. You guys have waited long enough, and a lot of people have a copy that slipped out, so I might as well just officially release it.

It's been a while. I'd like to wrap up development of Zelda Classic and ZQuest soon. This project has become bigger than I ever intended, and while it has been fun, I don't want it to drag on forever. I'll start working on it again today, and hopefully the final release of ZC and the public release of ZQuest will be out in one to two months.

Busy. School's out in a few weeks. A lot of people have had problems registering in the forum. Sorry, I don't know how to fix it. Nightmare updated his new quest to v1.21.

I've been busy lately, so no updates here. Nightmare updated his new quest. It's on the Quest Archive page.

I changed the demo quest a little to make it more playable. It runs on version 1.77 (on the download page now) which has the ability to force you to restart a quest from the beginning if the quest author so desires. You'll have to restart the demo quest, but it's a little less tedious now in some places.

Version 1.76 is out. It's a must have. Also, Nightmare's "new" quest is in the quest archive. Check it out.

I wrote a lengthy intro to ZQuest on the editor page. There's also some new stuff in the What's Next section.
